Even if you’re not a fan of the Red Wings, there’s a lot of good info about rebuilds in general, especially when it comes to timelines and benchmarks teams may be looking to hit. Detroit has been far more competitive this season than anyone thought they’d be, so what does that mean going forward? Max provides a lot of unique insight into those types of questions.
Also, Max is one of the younger journalists on a full-time NHL beat. He talks about his path to The Athletic, and how his passion for hockey was rekindled by being able to cover the sport he played through high school (on a team that never won a game).
