It’s been an exciting week with the NHL Draft Lottery being drawn, so I wanted to make sure Talking Hockey Sense reflected that renewed excitement around the draft. Episode 12 is a little different with no guest, but I turned the podcast after to the listeners and the readers of this site to ask me anything about the 2021 NHL Draft.
I was almost overwhelmed by the number of questions I got through Twitter and email. There were also so many insightful, interesting questions that allowed me to cover a ton of different topics.

Among the questions answered in this week’s episode:
If Buffalo picks Owen Power No. 1, should they consider letting him go back to Michigan for another year?
Is there any chance Buffalo takes Matty Beniers? Does his injury at the World Championship affect his draft stock?
Is there any chance the Seattle Kraken pick a goaltender with the No. 2 pick?
Who are some of your favorite players in the USHL not in the NTDP or with the Chicago Steel?
Who are some players that could credibly go in the third round or later that you like?
There were also a lot of questions about specific players like Logan Stankoven, Matthew Coronato, Zachary L’Heureux, Jesper Wallstedt, Sebastian Cossa and many, many more.
Thanks to all the readers who submitted questions. And a huge, huge thank you to all of the new subscribers to Hockey Sense. This was one of the biggest weeks of subscriber growth since I launched the site. It must be draft season!
If you like the content in the podcast, the best way to support it is by subscribing to this site. It’s just $6 a month, $54 a year (three months free), or you can also become a supporting subscriber at any rate over the $54 annually to receive additional perks, which are forthcoming, like my first virtual happy hour where we can just talk hockey and enjoy conversation among a community of hockey fans. That should be coming some time during the conference finals, so stay tuned!
